At Support Staff Australasia, we provide you with the knowledge you need and arrange the right training for you, whether you are a school leaver, mature aged, wanting a career change or re-entering the workforce.

We offer nationally recognised and accredited traineeships as well as ongoing customised and nationally accredited and non-accredited courses. All our traineeships are workplace-based and designed to provide you with the industry skills and knowledge that you need.

We act as a Group Training Organisation (GTO) and work with preferred training organisations to make sure that you receive the right training.

We are now offering opportunities to outstandingPersonal Care Workers who would like to undertake the Dip EN course but cannot afford to do so.

To be eligible you must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident, have a successful work history as a PCW, a committment to a work/study combination and a passion for Aged Care Nursing.

ADVICE AND TIPS

Q. I'm interested in doing a Traineeship in Aged Care. What is the process?

A. Following submitting your application, you will be invited in for an Information Session. We then conduct an interview with you one-on-one to get to know you as a person and assess your suitability. If you meet the selection criteria, we will offer you the Traineeship. You then attend another Information Session to introduce you to Aged Care and complete the Traineeship at our partner's RTO. Our staff regularly visit you there to see how you are.

Q. I'm not eligible for an Aged Care Traineeship. What are my options?

A. There are a number options available besides completing an Aged Care Traineeship. We would first provide you with links to our RTOs RDNS and ANF.

Q. I didn't complete Year 12 but would like to get in to the nursing profession. What are my options?

A. Completing our Aged Care traineeship is one of the pathways into a nursing career. You're able to apply for a University place as a mature aged student, providing you meet course admission criteria. It can then lead to a Registered Nursing course which you will need to apply for as a matured aged student, providing you meet the selection criteria.

Certificate III in Aged Care Work

This course aims to provide Care Workers with the skills, knowledge and attitudes required by people who wish to work with the aged in residential or community settings.

We do offer a two day introduction session into Aged Care and 10 days of unpaid work experience so you can decide whether Aged Care is for you before you sign up for the Traineeship.
